September’s Polish Pair and news!

Hi! I’m here to show off September’s Polish Pair and give a bit of news out!

First- The BeeFae Etsy shop is having a sale!  Etsy’s recently given us the tools to run actual sales, and, so I am checking these tools out by having a sale. Through Tuesday, you can save 10% on 20$ or more! That’s 2 polishes! Not shabby, yeah?

Along with that, I’m keeping August’s Polish Pair in the shop for the duration of the sale, so if you haven’t picked them up yet, now’s your chance!

Okay! Now to September’s Polish Pair. This month I was playing around with the idea of the Northern Lights.  They’re definitely on my bucket list to see. So, these two polishes are, like August’s, meant to go together.

The first is called The Merry Dancers. I was reading about how various ancient northern folks had looked at the Lights, and this was one of the ways Scottish folks used to refer to the Aurora Borealis, and I liked the idea, so I applied it to this polish. It’s a cool blue shimmer that has a gentle color shift between purple/pink and green and it’s proven exeedingly difficult to photograph well. *grin*20170830_100533

Next up, we’ve got Bardic Cloak. It’s sheer and sparkly and I really really love it.

The cool thing about them is that you can put a coat of Bardic Cloak over The Merry Dancers for extra fun!

So, I’ll get these in the shop early tomorrow (The 1st of September), that way you’ll have the chance to buy these at a discount for the weekend!

I’ve got some more things up my sleeve, and I’ll be talking more about them over the next few weeks!

Have a great weekend, everyone!

August’s Polish Pair!

Hi folks! It’s almost August. How the crap did that happen?! 😀

August’s Polish Pair follow a theme for once. 🙂 August is my favorite of the summer months.  It signifies the beginning of the end of Summer, the first harvests, and the first steps toward my favorite season-Autumn!

AugustPolishPair

Both polishes came about because of myth and story.

The Death of John Barleycorn is a glossy tan/beige with tiny brown flecks in it, something like ripe barley or wheat, and I love that barley was personified into a story/song.

There was three men come out o’ the west their fortunes for to try,
And these three men made a solemn vow, John Barleycorn must die,
They ploughed, they sowed, they harrowed him in, throwed clods upon his head,
Til these three men were satisfied John Barleycorn was dead.

Lyrics are fun. 🙂

The second polish is called Samildanach. It’s an Irish gaelic word that means, basically, “Master of all arts”, and was a title given to the Irish deity Lugh, who’s festival, Lughnasadh, is generally August 1st. Since Lugh is considered a sky/sun god, this polish is all sorts of gold and sparkle. A sheer gold shimmer, with tiny scattered gold holo glitter throughout.

The cool thing about this pair is that, while they both look great alone, they also look great together, with Samildanach over Barleycorn. 🙂

As always, these will be available the 1st of the month, and will only be available for the month of August, so be sure to pick them up!

June and the Monthly Polish Pair

It’s halfway through the month and I’m just now blogging about June’s Polish Pair!

20170522_133714

June’s been a very busy month-my kiddo just graduated high school so we’ve just finished with all the whirlwind activity surrounding that and things are finally settling down.

Beachy State of Mind and Summer Splash are demi matte polishes, which means they’re balanced between matte and shiny. It’s a great look for summer fun. I’ve been wearing both of them constantly (In between testing for the next set!)-I love them so much.

They’ll be available ONLY till the end of June. I’ve decided that the monthly Polish Pairs will only be available in that month (May’s is the exception because I was still deciding, but they’re leaving at the end of June, too.).  Will they ever be available again? I’m not going to say no, but certainly not for awhile. 🙂

There won’t be a Polish Pair for July, because there will be a WHOLE NEW SET! And I’ll be talking about that in a couple of days! 🙂 Wooo!

Get Them While You Can!

Hi folks! You’ve got a little over a week to get both of May’s colors at a discount! (The same with the full starter set-Once May is over, you can buy them singly still, of course, but you won’t be able to get the discounted price!)

Through the month of June, you can still buy May’s colors, but after June, they’ll be taken from the shop.  Forever? Who knows. 😀 I suppose that depends on you folks, so let me know if you like the colors and they may make a return later on.

In other news, I was playing with glitter awhile ago, and came up with something I loved so much I wanted to share it with you folks. Beyond the Seventh Wave is a really cool polish for a couple of reasons-I mean, it looks amazing, yeah? And it’s my first foray into jelly polish.

Later this week, I’ll formally announce June’s 2 Colors (even though I’ve teased them all over Instagram recently! 😀 ), and the next full line of BeeFae polish is nearly ready for testing-with a tentative release around the first of July.

Lastly, I am learning about, and will soon be playing with, thermochromic pigments (The kind that change color with temperature changes!). I’m excited!

I hope ya’ll have a good, productive week. Remember that you’re awesome. 🙂

It’s May, here’s an update!

Hi, folks! April was a pretty good month for me, and I give you all the thanks for it! I have lots of cool polishes and things coming up over the next few months, so please stick around and tell your friends! 😀

As I said in my last post, I’ll be releasing two polishes every month (except on months where I do a full release), and I released May’s a little early because I was really excited about them!

il_570xN.1189076012_2nu0

During the month of May, you can get 2 dollars off if you buy them together!  After May, you will still be able to buy them singly, for awhile anyway.  I’m still thinking about how long I want to keep the monthly colors in the shop after their month is done. In the meantime, though, check these out! I love them (I know, I say that about all of them lol)! I have a soft spot for pale pinks, and I love pink and grey together.

What’s up for BeeFae Cosmetics this month? Well, I’m finishing up June’s 2 colors (Wait till you see them!), and I’m working on the next full set.  I’m also working on vinyl stencils for nail art that I could have in the shop before the end of the month. 🙂

The other thing I’m doing this month is putting the Bramblefae Etsy shop into vacation mode for May and possible June.  Funnily enough, I’ve done that for last 5 years, so I could get ready for the ren faire season, but with the closing of my local faire, this year, I’m not doing that.  But, I’m vacationing that shop while I focus on BeeFae for a bit and figure out the next direction for the Bramblefae Empire (haha).

However! I’m still more than happy to take commissions for wire work, just email me, or tweet me or something. 🙂

Lastly! Now that you folks are actually getting BeeFae polish into your hot little hands, I’d love to see your nails! I’d love to hear what you think and if you get a chance, I’d really love it if you could leave me some feedback on Etsy!

I hope flowers are blooming wherever you are and I’ll talk to ya’ll soon!

The Starting Lineup (BeeFae!)

17310311_10155271636004994_2227599130361247781_o
Aren’t they pretty? ❤

Here they are-the starting six colors in BeeFae Cosmetics’ debut nail polish line. I really feel like I want to shout, “TADA!” every time I show the polishes to anyone.

I should say they’re in their final stage of testing, so formulas might change a bit if necessary, but the colors are solid. 🙂

Over the next weekish, I’ll be giving each color its own introduction post (even though one of the pictured polishes doesn’t have a name yet! *grin*), but now I can set down the timeline of the launch.

On Monday April 3rd, I’ll open up the BeeFae Etsy page for pre-orders for the line.  You’ll be able to pre-order individual 15 ml bottles (The ones you see in the pic), or the whole set of them. Eventually, though, I want to also offer smaller 5 ml bottles, and cuticle oil and vinyl nail stencils, but not for the pre-order. 🙂

On Tuesday, the 4th of April, I’ll have a limited amount of bottles available for purchase at Sassafras & Sage in Angola, Indiana.

The pre-order period will last through April, and on Tuesday, May 2nd, I’ll start shipping out all the pre-ordered polish. 🙂

Sadly, though, I will only be able to offer BeeFae nail polish to folks with addresses in the contiguous 48 states at this time.  I will continue to look into options that will allow me to legally send polishes elsewhere, but until then, US only shipping. 😦

Other than that, I am very excited to have you all try out BeeFae polishes! I hope you love them as much as I do.

And now for something completely different

Hi there folks! As I mentioned in my last blog post, I’ve been working on something new, and it’s finally time to begin sharing that with you.

I’m actually really nervous about how ya’ll will react, but I am also super excited about it. 😀
beefaelogo1

I’d like to introduce you all to BeeFae Cosmetics. 🙂 Although, for now, it’s just going to be nail polishes. (I keep telling myself, “One thing at a time, B.” *grin*)  The plan is to launch officially the week of April 3rd, but now that things are officially a go, I wanted to start sharing the journey with ya’ll from testing all the way through to launch. 🙂

This is basically an offshoot of my work as Bramblefae, meaning they will exist side by side rather than one or the other. I’m not changing anything about how Bramblefae Boutique is running. I’m just adding something new, too.

Over the coming weeks, I’ll have an FAQ, and I’ll probably have several polls about all kinds of things.  But for now, I’m looking to build up a pool of folks willing to do some testing for me when I need it. 🙂

So, if you’re interested, please fill out this form. 😀

And if you haven’t already, follow me on Instagram and Twitter (or check out the feeds on the right side of this page!) for the best updates on this new venture and all my jewelry news!

Lastly, I really look forward to hearing what ya’ll think about this. ❤

Time for some news!

I hope everyone is enjoying the beginning of 2017. I know I am definitely looking forward to what the new year will bring.

The last year has been a time of change for me in a lot of ways, as I’m sure it has been for a lot of you.  The biggest bit of change for me was the end of the relatively long running Enchanted Lakes Ren Faire, which was my home faire, and biggest event for Bramblefae Boutique.  I’ll admit that I spent a few months adrift, creatively.

In November, I helped open a boutique-style shop in my town called Sassafras & Sage, and with that, I remembered how much I love creating things, and now I’m overflowing with creativity, ideas and new things.

Which leads us to the first bit of news-I’ll be updating the Etsy shop over the next week with some new things I’ve been working on. Working in the shop has structured my time in such a way that I am able to work on projects “of my heart”, basically. The kind of creative whimsy that drew me to jewelry design in the first place.

15356631_10154931713304994_3019567557865836901_n

This current bit, the stuff I’ll be adding over the next week, is pretty themed.

Out of the Sea, from whence I came will encompass a handful of one of a kind pieces, some can be considered every day pieces, but some, like this crown, are a lot more special occasion whimsy (Although, it’d make me super happy for someone to make this an every day crown! 😀 ). These will get their own post after I’ve gotten some pictures taken and gotten everything posted to Etsy.

While I am looking forward to doing more one of a kind pieces, I also want to make it very clear that I am still very open for commissions and custom work.  ANYTHING you see in my Etsy shop, or my Instagram photos or on Pinterest even, I would be happy to help create something truly unique for you.  Commissions and custom work are some of my favorite things because I love helping you folks have a creative hand in something that you’ll treasure.

The last bit of news that I have right now is that I am probably going to phase out the Bramblefae Boutique Facebook page.  Over the last year it has kinda shown itself to, basically, be more trouble than it’s worth for me. 🙂 I have a far better response on Twitter and Insta, and I feel more like I’m building/ being a part of a community in those places.  So, please, if you don’t already, give me a follow on Twitter or Instagram, I’m bramblefae pretty much everywhere. 🙂

In the next month or so, I’ll have some more news to share with you folks. I’m not ready to talk about it yet, but I am really excited about this possibility, so look forward to that as well!

I hope all of you have years full of wonder and love and I look forward to sharing some of my wonder and love with you all. ❤
