Back in the fall, I’d started poking around with some fiber art- wet felting, some weaving, that sort of thing. And over the winter as I did my seasonal day job, I did a lot of thinking about where I am, where I’ve been, and where I’m going, creatively speaking.
One of the resounding things is that, while I love making nail polish and I don’t see that changing in any way, I had been missing other creative endeavours. That got me thinking about how I wanted to get back to that. I already had Bramblefae Boutique to use if I wanted.
But, the more I thought about it, the more I realized that the Bramblefae identity didn’t really suit me anymore. It didn’t really feel like *me*.
I spent a lot of years trying to be, creatively, a little of everything for everybody and that’s amazing for people who can do it, but I felt I needed to scale things back a bit; to focus more on things I *loved*, rather than things I thought other people would love.
I make mead for fun and for spiritual reasons- about a gallon, twice a year. I, half-jokingly, made labels for it that say, “Autumn-born Meadery”, because my husband and I were both born in October. And I’ve realized that the Autumn-Born moniker fits both me, and what I want to do creatively, a lot better than anything else at this point. 🙂
So, over the next few weeks, I’ll be showing off some of the things I’m doing, and opening up a shop of some sort for the things that aren’t nail polish.
As for BeeFae, nothing at all will change there, and I am excited about some of the new polishes I’ve got in the works. 🙂
You will need to update your bookmarks, I believe, because this will now be autumnbornwhimsies.com. Twitter will still be @BeeFae for polish and @bramblefae for everything else, for now (If I change my @, I’ll be sure and let you all know, of course!).
Thank you all for your willingness to come along on this ride with me and I look very forward to showing you what’s next. 🙂
